Indiana has had a rough spring and summer, weather-wise. An Indianapolis news station posted this meme as to how much rain Indiana has had in the last seven days.
Here in Lafayette we've had 7+ inches, a lot but nothing compared to the eastern part of the state where they received double that amount. A lot of roads and bridges have been washed out - it's going to take a long time to repair and get back to normal.
It has also been a bad year for tornados, too. The National Weather Service is still assessing damage areas to determine just how many we have had.
A new record - 87 and still assessing.
They say that Tornado Alley has shifted more to the Midwest and I can believe it.
The time finally came - Nan moved. She is now living in the Indianapolis area and lives much closer to her daughter, Ellie. (Luckily she moved before the rains began.)
We were neighbors for 19 years so it was very hard to see her go. Best wishes in your new home, Nan!
Guess who celebrated a birthday!
The big boi turned 5 and celebrated with a nice long walk,
an afternoon nap (with Pepper's second favorite toy which he'd managed to get away from her), and some chunks of beef from the beef stew Craig had made for dinner. Life is good!
Well, for some of us.
