I'm Shocked!!

Monday evening Abby saw me roll up in my car and gave up the lush new spring grass (Tim had just opened a section of the pasture) to come say "hello" and get a treat.

We visited through the gate a while, and then I moved over to the side, reaching my arm through the wires of the fence to pass out her goodies.

 Crunch! Crunch! Crunch!

 Abby reached her nose out just as I stretched my hand to her, and SNAP!!! One of us made contact with the electrified wire on the fence and we both got a good jolt.

Abby isn't a spooker, but she did jump back away. Then she looked at me, turned around with an insulted air, and went right back to her herdmates and nibbling grass.

She was well and truly done with me for the day!

(I did feel kind of badly for her - the fault is mine that we got shocked as I thought it was the top wire that was electrified, not the middle one!)
