As I was putting away Christmas this year, I decided to sort through all my tubs and repack them, shifting some things around and digging out other things that have not been displayed for a while.
While doing so, I decided to gather all my horsey ornaments together and photograph them. I also wanted to see if I needed a dedicated horsey tree, not a tabletop tree like the one I use currently (and which only holds twelve ornaments.) Was it time to buy a small artificial tree?

As I gathered those ornaments together, I saw that a tabletop tree would no longer do - I have enough for a 4-6" tree, perhaps even larger. Here is what I have:
A pewter Kentucky Horse Park ornament, a crystal horse head (NOT unicorn!), and a wooden Belle Meade that Denver Daughter got me when she visited the plantation.

A New Mexican pottery horse from a friend in 1985, an iridescent white plastic horse from 1988, and a 2000 Hallmark Lone Ranger.
Breyer Beautiful Breeds Clydesdale (2008) and Friesian (2004.) Favorites of mine; they are beautiful.
A red rocking horse from my father in the late 1970s just after we were married, a Trail of the Painted Ponies Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh ornament, a gift from a student in 2014 or so, and my favorite Hallmark Rocking horse from 1992. (Love those Appaloosas!)
New to me this year from Cristine Holt - more Hallmark Rocking Horses! The minis are so cute!
A "stained glass" rocking horse from my dad in the 1980s, a rocking horse that I've had for years but don't remember where it came from, a racehorse ornament from Kentucky Horse Park, mid 1990s, a hand decorated/woodburned ornament from a friend in the late 1980s, and at the bottom, a pewter rocking horse, another gift from my father in the late 1970s/early 1980s. (He loved to buy Christmas ornaments and decorations for our family!)
A Hallmark rocking horse that I got new in 1989, the Breyer 50th Anniversary Carousel Horse, a black ornament that was a gift from a student in 2015, and a china rocking horse that was a gift from an elderly couple at our church in 1989.
This year's Breyer Beautiful Breeds Fjord. I bought him mostly for those sleigh bells!

That's thirty-nine ornaments that I currently own, and I would not be surprised to add another couple before Christmas, 2020. Yep, gonna need that bigger tree!
This has been almost as much fun as the Circus Ponies collection (nope, not gonna step there, one is enough!). I collect pictures of the Beautiful Breeds once out of box, but I don't own one. It's cool to see all these variations. I honestly hadn't known about the Golden Star Blown Glass.
