Finding Little One

First Post of the Day

Look who Lisa, Nash, and Molly found on a walk in their neighborhood!

She was wandering loose without a leash and clearly wanted to be close to Lisa and her pups.

"Little One" has a collar, no fleas, is spayed, and clearly has been someone's pet or companion. There are some mats in her fur and she was hungry, but she's house trained and very friendly.

Mama sniffed noses and then went to bed - she's not interested in playing or getting to know Little One. But Nash is thrilled to have a new playmate, despite the size difference.

It's been fun to watch him play bow and invite her to come play. She is very willing and his size does not bother her. Lisa, though, is keeping a close watch on the play. 

Nash is a gentle giant, but... he's a giant next to Little One and is used to playing with big dogs like Tammo, Gus, and Pepper.

Yesterday Lisa took Little One to an animal shelter to have her checked for a chip. She did indeed have one, and the shelter is working to contact the owner. They will give them Lisa's contact info so they can come get their sweet little dog.

Lis did not leave Little One there but brought her home and will keep her through this weekend if she has not heard from the owner. (So far, nothing.) She also took her on a walk around the neighborhood, hoping someone would recognize her or that she would find her home herself. No luck with that, either.

Notices have been placed on social media in the area and that's about all Lisa can do to get this girl home.

In the meantime, she's making herself at home with her new best friend Nash and cuddling on Lisa's lap. 

Note: Yesterday I said I'd share today about my "field trip" to Oxford with Lisa today. That post is still in progress. I'll post it when it's finished.
