Two friends gave me a get well gift that is as unusual as it is beautiful. A horse puzzle box!
It's marquetry, which is an art form of putting different pieces of wood together in interlocking fashion.
To open the box, I had to figure out the puzzle. Luckily, it was not too difficult. To begin opening the box, I had to slide up the rectangular piece that is on the side of the box.
That allowed me to then slide the top off the box, but the puzzle wasn't finished yet.
There was a piece in the center that had to be lifted out in order to find the interior storage space.
Such a pretty and unique gift! I have placed it on my nightstand and will put my rings in it while I sleep.
