Stone Horses Country Fair 2024

There are a lot of pictures here and very little information. That's because I did not attend this show and the pictures are from Liz Cory who did. (I love it when friends send me photos from a show I did not attend!)

I am still under the weather and don't have the energy to sit at my desk and do research about this show. But you can still enjoy the photos of some very lovely model horses.

Sam Cory selling some of Liz's models and some that belong to Nancy Falzone. I was tempted at Midwest Mini Mania by that large pigeon from Nancy's collection. Her husband raised pigeons as a hobby and that piece was one of the only non-horsey items in her home.

The show hall in full swing.

A very large class of mules and exotics.

This photo is one of those that makes me glad I no longer judge at live shows! So many beauties!

I have wanted this mold since it was introduced. Don't have one yet, and now he comes in many mane and tail variations. (I don't collect variations, I don't collect variations...)

Christine Jefferson (holder of Dark Horse Model Show) and her son, Austin with his horse done in plastic for the show!

I believe this horse also belongs to the Jeffersons but don't quote me on that.

NOTE: Be sure to read Liz Cory's comment at the end of the post for more information about these two!

More Andalusians!

I would love to have a Bunny some day (far left) - to me, she's the epitome of a gentle draft mare.

An ISH! (Pronounced "ish" which is for Ideal Stock Horse.) Sculpted by Carol Williams of Rio Rondo, the ISH was already a highly popular resin when Peter Stone bought the mold and began producing it in plastic in the late 1990s.

Some Stone decorators.

I do like the Stone Mule mold, too.

And I like the colors in this foal's paint job.

ISH variations and it looks like the foal is a variation of another of Carol Williams' sculpts, Parr's Dream Doll.

I've been to this show before (it's held in northern Indiana, only about two hours from me) and had a lot of fun. There's another show in the Fall, but I have The Feast of the Hunters' Moon and The Great Lakes Congress show then, and that's about all I have time and energy for. But maybe some day I'll go again.

After taking a look at the pictures Liz sent me from the Stone Country Fair, I'm thinking of doing a blog post or two on my (very) small Stone collection. Maybe after I wrap up the Pairs o' Ponies series? We shall see.

And thanks, Liz, for sharing your photos!
