Christmas Horse & Advent Calendar Reveal - Day 24

Christmas Horse of the Day

Gathering around the tree - a display I put out on my shelves several years ago.

Advent Calendar Reveal - Day 24

The Galloping Mustang Stallion

And that concludes the 2024 Breyer Advent Calendar reveal!

What fun it was to open a door a day and find a surprise waiting for me. Sure hope there is a new calendar for next year!

Christmas Horse & Calendar Reveal - Day 22

First Post of the Day

Christmas Horse

Christmas Candy, the Santa Surprise on Christmas Day, 2019.

500 were made of each color.

They came in satin green striped, red striped, blue striped, and metallic gold striped. (Plus 12 that were solid glossy black and were named "Coal.")

My gold zebra is different from the other three. Its finish is completely smooth - you cannot feel the stripes at all. With the other three, if you run your fingers across their stripes you can feel each and every one.

I am a big fan of the colors that Breyer has put on this mold. I still need Caves of Lascaux from BreyerFest 2015, but the prices for that piece are currently much higher than I am willing to pay for it.

Advent Calendar Reveal - Day 22

The Cutting Stock Mare in black Appaloosa.

The depth of that black color reminds me of the vintage Lying and Scratching Foals in the same color.

She doesn't stand well although that may be by design because she also looks like she's doing a sliding stop of even a rollback.

Only two more doors to open!

Christmas Horse & Calendar Reveal - December 21

First Post of the Day

Christmas Horse of the Day

The 2020 Blind Bag Festive Filigrees!

I love the Stablemate Lippizaner and so I took a chance on getting him and ordered two bags.

First bag opened!

The second bag contained the Croi/Connemara Mare.

Eventually I ended up with all four, although I am pretty sure I traded the Smart Chic Olena (red filigree) and the Gypsy Vanner (silver filigree) away. (Photo by Breyer.)

By the way, I like that Donovan mold so much that for the first time ever, I am seriously considering joining the Stablemate Collectors Club. Why? Well, I may not like unicorns, but I sure do love...

Pegasi! Oh, my, that color!! I'd love to have this piece.

Advent Calendar Reveal - Day 21

The High Stepping Draft Horse.

Not a bad little piece!

That's eight of the ten horses this year's advent calendar is purported to have and there are only three more doors to open. We are close to the end!

Christmas Horse of the Day & Calendar Reveal - Day 19

First post of the day... or maybe not. If I can get the second post written and proofed before I head to the hospital, it will appear. Otherwise, I'll be back tomorrow.

Christmas Horse of the Day

The blue charm Stablemate from the Clydesdale Christmas blind bags!

There were four options, all in decorator colors, and I got the two I wanted most.  But, because I love the Clydesdale mold, I would have been happy with any of them!

Advent Calendar Reveal - Day 19

I thought for sure that I would be getting another horse today - there are ten  of them and three still need to be revealed beforeDecember 25.

The cowpoke does not sit well on the horses - the legs are too wide and so the rider slips sideways.

I'll let him or her stay out of the box and ride for a while.

Christmas Horse & Calendar Reveal - December 18

First Post of the Day

Christmas Horse of the day

Snickerdoodle, The Holiday Pony Playset. (Screenshot from Breyer.)

Produced in 2021, the piece has a pearly finish

and came with a blanket and costume along with a doll.

It's a pretty piece but sadly the masking on the mane and tail of mine was not done well and is disappointing.

Cinders (2024), Tinsel (2023), and Mia (2022) have followed Snickerdoodle in the Holiday Pony Playset series, but that series does not seem to sell too well. Three of the four releases are still currently available on Breyer's website.

Christmas Horse & Calendar Reveal - Day 16

First Post of the Day

Christmas Horse of the Day

Mittens! The 2023 Pony for Christmas model.

I collect Breyer's blankets, and I especially like the holiday ones. This blanket, though, was a must-have.

My mom knitted me these gloves when I was nine and Mittens' blanket is so reminiscent of them. I actually still have one of them - my most favorite gloves ever. (I was already collecting Breyers at this point in my life, too.)

The Ponies for Christmas series come in neat gift boxes - I am a big fan of this series.

Advent Calendar Reveal - Day 16

Pasture fencing!  I put it back into its slot in the calendar as I am just putting out the horses this year.

There are ten horses; seven opened and three to look forward to!

Christmas Horse & Calendar Reveal - Day 15

First Post of the Day

Christmas Horse of the Day

Kohl, Breyer's second piece in the Pony for Christmas series. (Catch the pun on her name? Kohl/Coal?)

Produced in 2022, she has a shiny, satin candy cane colored blanket

and red, green, and white ribbons on her braids.

I love everything about this piece!

Advent Calendar Reveal - Day 15

The Running Thoroughbred Stallion.

He's a pretty black with a bright white star on his head.

More tomorrow, so stay 'tooned. And don't forget to enter the Give Away. Entries end at 11:59 PM Eastern today!

Daily Reveals - Day 12

First Post of the Day

Because doing both a daily Christmas Horse and an advent calendar reveal takes a lot of time and written space, I am going to try separating them out from my daily blog post. That means two blog posts for the day readers, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I'll give it a try and see how it goes.

Christmas Horse of the Day

Christoff, blue clearware with purple accents and silver snowflakes, was the 2020 Holiday Web Special on the Show Arabian Mare mold.

St. Moritz and Christoff are nice companion pieces. I often have both these pieces out as part of my winter decor.

Advent Calendar Reveal - Day 12

I saw this meme on social media - made me smile!

Today's reveal is the Thoroughbred Jumping Stallion with stand.

He has a very pretty buckskin coat.

And he sets up nicely on the jump that was yesterday's reveal.

Another post is coming soon this morning. And, it has information about the December Give Away.

Stay 'tooned!

Two Posts Today

First Post of the Day

A very special model arrived yesterday, one I wasn't sure I would actually receive. I'll post about that piece later this morning, so stay 'tooned.

In the meantime, here are today's Christmas Horse and Advent Calendar reveal.

Christmas Horse of the Day

Beautiful St. Moritz on the Esprit mold, he was the 2017 Winter Web Special in blue, silver, and purple clearware.  Only 350 were made.

Pony Pal Julie was with me when St. Moritz arrived and she fell in love with him then and there. More about that can be found here.

There is a tag on his leg that indicates he is to go to Julie when I part with my models.

Advent Calendar Reveal - Day 11

A nice jump that has a nub on it so you can have a horse jumping over it.

While I am enjoying the daily opening of each piece, I am considering putting it all back into its windows rather than continue setting up a scene of some sort. There are enough pieces out that already it's become a knock-over hazard.

Plus I am toying with the idea of getting my dolls out and setting up a Christmas scene. It's been a while since I did that, and I really enjoy having a model holiday scene.

Circus Girl and Little Lynn exchange gifts Christmas morning. Fellow bloggers and friends Anne Field and Jennifer Buxton helped me create this scene - Anne made the dolls and Jennifer made the halter with the "Abby" nameplate. (I treasured that halter when I received it; now, even more so.)

Stay 'tooned on that, too!
