Denver Daughter Snowed Under

Denver and parts of the west got dumped on by a massive snowstorm that moved through this weekend.

Denver Daughter Sarah (who actually lives in Aurora) received 30 inches of snow as of last night.

Our son-in-love Todd is traveling on business and JC is away at BYU Idaho going to school.

That leaves Sarah and Horse Buddy Trinity to dig out the driveway and walkways. They're doing it by hand because their snowblower simply cannot handle the heavy, wet snow.

Neighbors are banding together to help each other, especially those who are essential workers. (That's Sarah on the right; I'm not sure which one is Trinity. Their neighbor took this photo.)

Jennifer Buxton and all the western hobby peeps hit by this storm, I hope you are okay, have power, and are able to stay put until the situation improves. Sending thoughts and prayers to all people impacted by this storm!

Horse Buddy Trinity & Hokey

The original Pony Pal, Trinity, is here visiting from Aurora, Colorado. She is a junior in high school and asked if she could come to Indiana to visit us during her fall break. You bet we agreed to that request!
But at 16, Trin has aged out of the Pony Pal nickname - she has graduated to Horse Buddy.
 Horse Buddy Trinity with Diablo...
 ... and Abby...
... and Hokey, with whom she absolutely fell in love.
The feeling was very much so mutual - look at the contented expression on his face. (And look who is peeking out of the old barn!)
He sure enjoyed the brushing Trinity was giving him.
A big smooch on the cheek.
Trin was excited to discover that I am horse sitting while she is here and that we HAVE to go out to the barn every day as a result. I'm pretty happy about that, too, but even happier to have my Horse Buddy to accompany me!
