The Happy Trails IV Signature Horse

In addition to the sewing, BreyerFest prep, and getting ready for a July packed with family visits (starting today - gotta go do some cleaning), I have also been working on prep for Happy Trails, the live show/pony party I hold in my home every year.

One of my favorite things at Happy Trails is the signature horse - I find an old, much loved vintage Breyer and give it new life by spray painting it gold and then having everyone sign it.

And I do mean everyone! 

The 2018 signature model was the Running Stallion and the Family Arabian Mare was used for 2019.

I'd selected the Stretch Morgan for 2020's show well before the pandemic closed everything down and Happy Trails became a photo show for that year.

His chipped ear kind of symbolizes the pandemic - how many of us have said that we felt broken as the pandemic played out?

I am leaning toward spray painting him in silver and writing 2020. I may add the names of those who participated in the photo show on there, too, and possibly even something about the pandemic. 

If I end up doing that, then it will be back to searching for a vintage, body quality Breyer for the 2021 signature horse. July is just too busy for that task, but Happy Trails IV isn't until October so I have plenty of time. 

And, I already have a mold in mind. Stay 'tooned!
