Last Tuesday, my friend Jennifer wrote about her dog Darcy on her blog. It was a beautiful post, expressing her love for Darcy and her still-felt grief at her passing a year ago.
Of course, that post resonated with me as I read it. My own loss of Mama was so recent, I understood.
In that blog post, Jennifer shared about Darcy and then other dogs who had been part of her life, including the dogs of friends.
And then to my surprise, she wrote of Molly.
Oh, my heart! Tears came, but they were not sad tears. Not at all. To know that a friend also loved Mama and was mourning with me was comforting. I was grateful.
Jennifer concluded with a suggestion that we all spend extra time with our pets to honor those who are gone. Good advice and I took it (to Pepper, Tammo, and Nash's delight.)
She is also writing a series about the dogs that have been in her life and they are very much worth a read. We've met Jock, Bandini/Sally B, Megan, and Darcy, with more to come. (Emma! Piper!) Don't miss it.
And Jennifer?
Thank you. xo
