BreyerFest Week: Saturday

Day two of BreyerFest was just as full as the first day. I spent the much of the day sewing while watching the live feed and looking at the various contest winners.

I was thrilled when it was announced that long time friend and fellow blogger Danielle Feldman of Feldman Studio had won the Performance Excellence Division of the Best Customs Contest. (The first link will take you to the blog post about how Danielle made her contest entry. Photo from Facebook.)

Social media posts began showing Woodstock and Mini Woodstock, offerings coming soon for the Vintage Club. So excited for these two! (Photo from Facebook.)

Allison Pareis was given several donations for The FAMulous Collectibility Show including this unusual Family Arabian Mare.

The biggest story to come out of this year's BreyerFest no doubt will be the Saturday night auction.

A new record was set for the highest selling piece ever in auction history - the Silver Dun Pegasus sold for a whopping $65,000. (That's more than $40,000 more than the record it smashed.)

Of course, like ever other BreyerFestee, I went out to see the horses at Hobby Friends Hill, a little known, hard to find  place at the horse park. (So hard to find that only Kelsey Kramer and I go there. LOL)

Little Miss Bold came right up and let me rub her face and scratch her ears.

I still haven't watched my own seminar yet but I will soon. I am curious to see how it looks when streamed by Breyer. And Liz was interviewed yesterday by Kimber Goodwin and that interview will be shown today via the live stream. I hope to catch that, too.

Other than that, I have nothing else to do or see so for me, BreyerFest is mostly in the books for this year. (Craig and I volunteer for our church and have a lot of Sunday commitments.)

An Unusual Show Donation

Danielle Feldman is hosting a chicken themed photo show this coming spring called "Why the Chicken Crossed the Road." It promises to be a super fun show, and Danielle is making a lot of the prizes herself. (She is an outstanding artist.)

We've been friends for years so I wanted to send her some donations for prizes. But Danielle already makes haversacks, so I decided to come up with something different for her show.

Boy howdy, did I hit the JACKPOT when I found this embroidery pattern. Wouldn't this look great on kitchen towels?

Since I only began embroidering last September, I didn't want to get in over my head. I checked the color sequence chart

and the stitch map before starting. While it would not be an easy stitch out, I felt I could handle it.

I am so happy with how the towels turned out. The one on the left is the first one I made and follows the color chart sequence, but I played with the colors on the other two.

It's an unusual show prize, that's for sure, but when I sent Danielle the photos to make sure she was okay with my donation, she was excited about them.

I am, too, and now I want to make more towels for donations as well as sell them on the HorsieMama Mercantile. I bought some other embroidery patterns with horses on them and am experimenting today.
