More Show Prep

Like me, my co-host for The FAMulous Collectibility Show is using the cold winter days of January to work on show prep for 2020. She spent part of her weekend uploading photos from our show to the gallery section of our web site. (You can take a look at them here. )

Allison expressed my own feelings when she messaged me and said, "Man, I am still so happily STUNNED at what models showed up last year!!" 

So am I. And I cannot wait to see what is entered this coming year!

More FAMulous Show Prep

The FAMulous Collectibility Show is this Saturday and Allison and I are very busy doing the final prep work to get ready for it. We've divvied up the jobs between us and are almost ready to go.

I put together the ring signs this morning - Allison designed our logo and made the signs for me to print.

 We liked the idea of mismatched frames to hold the signs for the show tables.

The ring signs are 5x7 but the raffle ticket sign is 8x10 as it is print intensive and this makes it easier to read.

Allison has been sorting the ribbons into stacks of first through sixth so that they're ready to go for our judges.

We have several surprises for our judges and entrants that I don't want to reveal until the day of the show, and those will continue to keep us busy, but we are close to being ready.

I still don't feel 100% yet (I am drooping over my keyboard now as I type - time to lie down for a bit) but I am getting better. I think I'll be able to hold up my end on Saturday. I can't wait!

Prepping for the FAMulous Collectibility Show

The FAMulous Collectibility Show is just one week from this Saturday! What I thought would be a huge source of post-op stress has actually become a wonderful thing to look forward to and has served to make me feel more like myself.

 These are our Division Champion ribbons. Allison and I loved the unusually shaped rosettes.

 For Section Champion and Reserve, we got oversized flats with pointed tops, pinked under ribbons, and fish-tailed over ribbons. I really like how these turned out. Blue and yellow are our show's colors.

I felt strong enough yesterday to go to Dollar Tree and buy some show supplies. I found tablecloths and baskets in blue, and then got pens for the judges and show crew and envelopes for our welcome packets.

 At only a dollar each, I got five judges' clipboards

 And these cool "jewels" that we will use for a special class for all entrants. I can't share what the class is as we haven't announced it yet, but we will soon.

Donations continue to arrive - I love these pony tail holders! There are two sets in the package.

NAN Cards & Show Donations

The FAMulous Collectibility Show is a NAN qualifier, and the NAN cards have arrived!

 Since this is collectibility show, the cards are yellow.

We have also been receiving some lovely donations.

 Audrey Dixon sent this beautifully done custom Stablemate.

 Someone who wished to remain anonymous sent us a hard to find Jolly Cholly insurance dog.

 Robin Hudson makes jewelry from Mini Whinnies

 and she sent us not one

 but three of her necklaces!

Teresa Rogers, a real vintage lover, sent us a mint in box set of older Stablemates

 and a vintage 7" Hartland Arabian set!

Jan Jordan donated a Breyer Sarafina unicorn that is really pretty.

We have other commitments for donations that are being delivered the day of the show or that are in the mail and on their way. It's been wonderful to see just how generous hobbyists are, and Allison and I really appreciate the support we have been receiving for our first show together.
