So, Which Horse did I Buy?

A few days ago, I showed this photo of a sales table at the Great Lakes Congress show and offered a prize to the person who could guess the horse I'd bought. While there were good guesses, no one gave the right answer.

Maybe it's because I'd already shown a photo of the same model being shown that no one thought that I'd purchase another model just like that one.

But I did (and for the record, I never intended the guessing game to be a trick question.)

I bought the matte Slainte Surprise version of the model; I already had the glossy.

The differences between the two caught my eye right away. It's hard to see in these photos, but the matte model's leopard spots are a lighter brown than the glossy one's.

And, the matte one has more prominent pinking than the glossy.

I love the Giselle mold, and Appaloosas are my favorite breed of horses, so combining those with the differences between the two and I decided to buy the one on the sales table.

To some, it may appear that I just bought a duplicate, but I can see the differences and am really happy to have both the glossy and matte versions of the BreyerFest Appaloosa Slainte Surprise.

Coming tomorrow? A look at my blingy models. Stay 'tooned!

Happy with the Appy!

My BreyerFest loot has arrived! And I am thrilled with everything (although I am missing a tee shirt and a set of Stablemates that were supposedly shipped. Not worried - Breyer will make it right.)

Two boxes arrived today and you'd better believe I was watching UPS's "Follow My Delivery" feature all morning as I waited for them to be set on my doorstep.
The first box that I opened had the Slainte Surprise,
 the magnet,
 and Kelpie in it.
I think Bouncer looks wonderful in crystal and am pleased that I was able to snag one.
Lugh was also in there - I think he looks like melting chocolate. He's beautiful.
The second box had my Pop Up Store grab bag in it, and Breyer really gave me good value for the money.
Home Straight (another crystal), the Winner's Circle Autograph Horse, the Hands Down Thoroughbred stablemate, a 2015 BreyerFest drink cup, and a BreyerFest 2015 snow globe.

I had no idea which surprise was in the bag, but having seen them on other social media sites, I was leaning toward hoping for the Appaloosa or the palomino. Honestly, though, any of them would have been fine.
I was thrilled when I removed the orange bag and saw spots through the bubble wrap.
I got the Appaloosa! And not only is it chalky, it's glossy as well!

Thanks, Breyer, for the wonderful items that you sent me. I like them all, but I am especially happy with the Appy.
