Longtime hobbyist Liz Bouras has entered hospice care after a very long battle with cancer.
Liz and I are long time friends, although our interests in the model horse world are very different - I collect vintage Breyers and chinas, she is an artist of the highest quality who did customs in the early years (I was lucky enough to have owned a few) and then beautiful, even ethereal, finish work as time passed.
The hobby world is showing its love and respect for this pioneer hobbyist by flooding social media with purple, her favorite color. Knowing Liz had been planning to go to Disney World and was signed up to make a light saber while there, my purple tribute to Liz not only has a purple horse, but a purple planet as well.
