A Busy Pony Day & a Smile

Goodness! Breyer has been dropping new models like candy thrown in a parade!

Jota, Tuxedo, Hyacinth and Wisteria, Rhiannon and Remi, Brio, Tigerlily and Firestorm...

I almost missed Tuxedo, the only one of all of those that appeals to me, but I learned he was available and got him ordered.

All three iterations of Tuxedo make me happy, but I really like that bald faced version.

My bald faced boy, Shannon, was a member of my carpet herd. I got him in the late 1960s and he is an old favorite. The dagger star/short socks piece was a find in the 1990s, and the all black oil crisis model was found in an antique store about ten years ago. (The dagger star version is a variation of the diamond star release according to Nancy Young's book.)

Whichever version I receive, I will be happy. Thank you, Breyer!

I've got an assortment of chinas out that I am considering taking to the GLC show. Usually I bring around 35 models to a show; this time I am trying to limit it to 20. It's hard to be selling haversacks while your classes are being called!

Some Chevals that may come with me.  Their padded haversacks take a lot of space, so I may not bring them all. (Can you tell I am taking photos while it is still dark outside? I am an early morning riser and writer.)

I am taking two Stablemate sized Hagen Renakers that are very, very fragile. While I have padded haversacks for them, I wanted better protection than that for those spindly legs.

So, I gently put them on a bed of fleece, tucking a top layer of fleece in carefully around them without putting stress or pressure on their legs.

They are in two recent Breyer Stablemate boxes which will then be slid into the padded haversacks. I am confident the they are protected enough for traveling now.

And now for a smile. Nashie and Molly spent the day with us yesterday. They come on Wednesdays and Fridays while Teacher Daughter Lisa is at work and we love having them just as much as they love coming to be with us. Wednesday I got the giggles a couple of time as I saw how they were sleeping.

Nashie fell asleep on "the job." He has several places in our home where he sits and looks out the windows watching the world go buy and barking indignantly to let us know that someone dares to be on the sidewalk in front of our home.

Caught you, Nash! Clear evidence (along with the snoring) the you were asleep instead of guarding!

Meanwhile, Pepper (who is very secure knowing that Nash is on guard duty) gets comfy with her favorite octopus stuffie and naps on the couch.

And Molly can't make her mind up as to which bed she should sleep on,

so she takes a snooze between two of them. (For the record, there are seven doggo snooze spots in our home, nine if you include the two couches that we allow them on. Oh, and the two human beds we let them use brings it to eleven. No wonder she can't decide.)

Back to packing up ponies!
