Welcome to Horsie Mama's Horsey Super Bowl! I had the idea last night as I was preparing for today's family gathering (more on that below) - why not have a horsey Super Bowl here on the blog?
RULES & HOW TO PLAY:
~ No looking up answers online or in other sources or asking another person.
~ Take the quiz and record your answers somewhere. (An online document, a piece of paper, something like that.)
~ Tomorrow I will post the answers so you can self-score your responses. (Yes, I'm a teacher, but my grading days are long over.)
~ Take a screenshot or a photo of your scored answers and send them to me at horsiemama8@gmail.com. You can also send a digital file.
~Anyone who plays and sends me their scored sheet, is eligible for some sort of prize regardless of how they scored on the quiz.

Of course, you can't have any kind of Super Bowl without snacks and treats! Here's the recipe I am making to take to my family's watch party tonight:
Lynn's Toffee Bars
1 cup of butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg yolk (don't use the white! I always feed it to Pepper so it doesn't go to waste)
2 cups flour
chocolate chips
chopped walnuts if desired
Preheat oven to 350. Cream butter and brown sugar and then add egg yolk. Mix throughly then stir in the flour and mix into a thick dough. Pat dough into a greased (I use Pam) 9 x 13 pan. It helps if your hands have some butter on them - I use the wrappers from the sticks of butter. Bake until the edges and top are golden about, 25 -30 minutes or so. Remove from oven and turn off heat. Scatter lots of chocolate chips across the toffee bar. Make sure you cover it. Slide the pan back into the oven for a few minutes to soften the chips. Spread them like frosting, top with walnuts if desired, and then let cool. Cut into squares and enjoy!
The Isenbarger Family Super Bowl Game
I live with a family of football fans - I'm kind of an outlier in that I am the only one who really doesn't follow it. (Although I do play Fantasy Football with them and I do love our Friday Night Lights in the fall.)
Local Son Curt always creates a Super Bowl Prop Bet (I have no idea what that means; I do know that no one is actually betting) that we all fill out. He scores them and then the top three winners get a prize. Anyone in our family can play, including the Pony Pals and Cowpokes, and even if you live far away and aren't there in person, he will mail that prize to you.
The form must be filled out and given to Curt before the game starts, too, but he's good at sending reminders so that everyone who wants to play gets entered.
If you want to play with a friend or family, here is Curt's form. (He has taken a little flack from certain family members for not including a Taylor Swift question. LOL)

Personally, I actually do care about who wins tonight. George Karlaftis who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs is a home town boy who attended Craig's high school. We watched him play football on our Friday Night Lights for four years. He played here at Purdue before going into the NFL. He is a humble, nice kid.
Needless to say, I am pulling for Kansas City.
