Dodging Raindrops

That cold front came through Indiana yesterday, bringing lots of rain and chilly temperatures.
I went out to the barn at noon when there was brief lull in the rain.
The horses were grazing way out in the west pasture adjacent to the hay field near where Tim has stored this winter's round bales of hay. (The hay mow in the old barn is full of rectangular bales, too.)
The rain resumed during my barn check, and the herd took shelter under some of the trees rather than come back into the barn.

I headed back to my car after checking to be sure everything was as it should be.
This was new to me, but when texted, Tim told me to not worry about repairing it and that he would take care of it when he returned.
A shot of the upper story on the west side of the old barn. I love old wooden barns.
Abby and I had a very short visit under these trees as the rain was cold and the temperature was falling - I wanted to get back in the car where it was warm and dry.
It was a good decision to cut our visit short - more rain clouds were rolling in, and right after I got home, the skies grew very black and unleashed very heavy rains.

Tomorrow's post? A look at some other old barns.
