With help from Horse Buddy Trinity, we fed Abby some carrots first and visited with the herd.
Abby really is not broke to ride, and while I thought she would be fine if I popped Mila up on her back and led her around, I felt it was safer to use Diablo who both rides and drives.
I had haltered Diablo and was ready to lift Mila up when Abby horned her way in between us to say hello to Ian.
Mila was totally unafraid and so excited to get her wish.
I was surprised, though, that Mila didn't say anything - maybe she was a little nervous after all.
Ian, who has been a little afraid of the horses in the past, asked if he could sit on Diablo.
He started kindergarten in August and has gotten a lot of self confidence since then.
Abby may not be rideable, but she is a real love on the ground and very gentle around kids.
Ian can almost reach the top of her neck - if he stretches and goes up on his tiptoes.
Abby loved the double duty grooming that she received, and I was so happy that both kids were becoming so confident around the horses and were unafraid to walk around Abby while they groomed her.
