During the holidays, my sister Leslie sends a few old family pictures to my siblings and me every day. We laugh, reminisce, and sometimes even cry as the memories resurface.
Yesterday's batch held a big surprise for me - a photo of Amy and me that I had never seen before.
I knew the batch it was taken from, but it must've been set aside in favor of other pictures for some reason - I went through all my pictures of Amy and did not find this one.
She's in full winter coat so her spots don't show as much, but no doubt the resemblance to Abby is still obvious.
This was taken Thanksgiving Day, 1970. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and Amy will always be my favorite horse, so I'm a little sniffly as I look at this long lost photo.
