2021 Vintage Club Bonus Stablemate

Vintage Club members always get a bonus Stablemate at the end of the year. I've been in the Vintage Club since its inception, and sometimes those Stablemates have not been shipped until well into the following year.

Not this year! Tucked in with my Nugget was this shipping box.

And inside it was another box - a super nice 70s style Breyer box with the bonus model inside.

It's the Smart Chic Olena (a traditional mold) shrunk down to 1:32 scale and then painted in the 1970s Yellow Mount pattern.

I think Breyer did an excellent job of matching the color and the pattern.

Like Nugget, the Stablemate is a gambler's choice. Early Yellow Mounts came with a forearm spot while later ones did not. The Stablemate is split 50/50 like that.

My Yellow Mount is from my carpet herd and has the forearm spot; I was pleased to get the Stablemate that also had it.

I have one of the earliest Yellow Mounts - no USA stamp and with pinkish hooves.

The near side's pattern is well done, too.

Another keeper for my non-collection of Stablemates!

  2. Thanks! I wondered where the spot was. I got one too! No charcoal Dawn and Dusk for you?
