Jennifer Buxton shared a universal hobby truth in her recent blog post, Beehive People. Jennifer wrote, "It's a cliche because it's true: the people are the best part of a live show."
I agree. Sure, I love the beautiful models, winning ribbons, and more, but what I like best is connecting with friends, long time or new, catching up, talking about our hobby, and more.
Here are a few that I got to spend time with at Indy Blooms last Saturday.
Liz Cory and me in our matching GLC tee shirts. She did something really thoughtful and caring for Teacher Daughter Lisa and me after the show. I may not share it here as it was very personal and touching, but rest assured that she is one of the most thoughtful people you could know. Thanks again, Liz.
Steff Bodamer - one of my favorite judges to show under - she really knows her stuff. And, thanks to her, I have become a fan of Boston Terriers.
Ellen Vogel who was a very good sport and wore a skunk pelt and hopped right up into Tim's jail wagon when we asked her to.
Michelle Evans, a friend from the early 1990s when there were multiple shows held in Indianapolis every year.
Pat Reed who hosted many of those shows down in Indy and still hosts a model horse club there with monthly meetings!
Brand new friend Angela Morlock who hosts River City Classic in Evansville, Indiana.
Many friends are missing in these pictures but it was still a treat to see them and have the opportunity to chat with them.
Jennifer, you were so right - the people ARE the best part of a live show! And I can't wait until Clover Classic in June so I can see my friends again.
Bonus post coming today around 10:30 EDT!
