Oops... I Did It Again

Oops... I did it AGAIN! And I am not talking about this boy. 

I mean this.

Pepper's frisbee rests on the roof of our park's pavilion. And guess who threw it up there.

Yep!

If it were down a little lower, we could get it by using a rake.  But it's too high and we would need a ladder as well as a rake. It was stuck up there until wind or rain brought it down.

Resigned to the loss of the frisbee, we finished playing, throwing Tammo's frisbee for both dogs to chase, even though neither dog likes to share and some tussling ensued.

I turned to our neighborhood Facebook group for a little help.

And then I settled in to wait for the weather to bring it down.

The next morning I discovered a surprise on the sundial in our stepping stone garden.

Pepper's frisbee! And a gift along with it! The neighborhood rock fairy had struck again!

Who is the rock fairy? No one knows. But they leave handmade rock art all over the neighborhood for people to find and enjoy.

The first one I found was on our mailbox and now resides in my dining room china cabinet. I've found several others since they began appearing last summer. It's an unusual and lovely art form and has become a very, very loved tradition in our neighborhood.

Thank you for returning Pepper's frisbee and the bonus gift, rock fairy! And Pepper, I plan to throw more carefully when we play later this morning. (At least it didn't go in the lake this time, right?)

Moving on to Breyer news...

If you are not a member of the Vintage Club and want to join, today is the day!

This club started with a limit of 500 members and that has increased as the years have passed, with 1,200 memberships available for this year. Sounds like a lot, but last year's members have had the opportunity to rejoin first, and there were 1,000 in the 2024 club. Many of those (including me) have renewed, so far less than 1,200 spots are available. If you want to join, I'd suggest you sign up as soon as memberships open.

The Freshly Baked Stablemates have gotten mixed reviews on social media platforms.

I love Peppermint Bark, the Saddlebred, but not enough to spend $25 on a one in four chance to get it. I like the color and execution of Iced Gingerbread Cookie and he reminds me of the ornaments I made my family last year.

But I don't like the mold they used for him, especially at that price. ($6? Maybe. But not $25.)

So, I will keep my eyes open and see if I can get Peppermint Bark on the secondary market. (Have one to sell? Please email me at horsiemama8@gmail.com.)

Two weeks until Thanksgiving, folks! My favorite holiday and I'm really getting excited!
