Questions! The teacher in me absolutely loves them and occasionally I get them from blog readers. Those questions run the gamut from hobby/horse related ones to questions about my family and personal life.
Since I get so many, I began keeping a list of them and thought it might be fun to answer some today.
Why don't you write about current Breyer announcements and releases?
(Photo from BreyerHorses.com.)
That's a great question! There are so many different ways to hear about new releases and club news (Facebook, Instagram, Blab, Tiktok, and more) that my posting about it here would be redundant and a repeat of what blog readers have already seen elsewhere. I try to write about things that you generally won't read about elsewhere.
I do make exceptions - the news that Hagen Renaker was closing down after 75 years in business? That was a HUGE announcement for the hobby, especially if you are a china collector like me. And so I did a blog post on that.
Will you monetize your blog? I'd be happy to support you!
Thank you for offering, but I have no plans to monetize. This blog began as my journal and I still view it as a way of recording my life with horses.
Having said that, I fully support those who do monetize their blogs. My financial circumstances as a blogger are different from most other bloggists - I'm retired, my kids are grown, and my expenses are minimal.
If you have a favorite blog and the option is there to buy the blog author a cup of coffee through Ko-Fi or to support them by subscribing or some other means, please do. Blogging is hard; show them that you appreciate their efforts to include you in their hobby lives.
Would you consider a monthly haversack club that we could subscribe to?
This sounds like fun! And I did consider it. But honestly, I think the commitment to produce something new every month for folks would be too much for me.
As you might imagine, I kept this haversack for me instead of selling it!
You have a big family. Just how many kids and grands do you have?
Craig and I have six kids, three sons and three daughters. This photo hangs on the wall in our bedroom and is one of my favorite ever taken of them. They're also in age order, oldest to youngest, from left to right.
Sarah (Iowa), Jessica (Utah), Kyle (Florida), Lisa (Indiana), Curt (Indiana), and Cole (Tennessee.)
Our in-loves: Emily (Cole's wife and pregnant with Susie), Ashley (Kyle's wife), Craig, me, Todd (Sarah's husband), Andrew (Jessica's husband), and Vanessa (Curt's wife.)
As for grands, we have sixteen grandchildren: JC, Trinity, Cambria, Titan, Braden, Adelaide, Corinne, Whitney, Melissa, Ian, Mila, Lukas, Julie, Kate, and Susan. (There's also Isaac, but he is no longer with us. Still, I count him.)
I only got about halfway through my list of questions but I will come back to the topic another time. I gotta scoot and get back to the sewing machine and finish some projects (non riding habit ones, LOL!)
Stay 'tooned!
That is an epic family picture!
