I Need Some Lemonade

First Post of the Day

Yesterday was a day where an ordinary annual wellness check with my doctor may have been a life saver.

When she routinely took my blood pressure, it was so high, it was at stroke level. I'd taken my blood pressure pills that morning like usual, I felt fine, and I had no idea that I was having a very serious issue at the time. (There's a reason they call stroke "the silent killer." Yep.)

After consulting with my doctor, I had new meds, an appointment for bloodwork scheduled for this morning, and instructions to go home, do nothing, and remain quiet all day. To monitor my blood pressure, contacting her if it shot up like that again.

To send her several readings taken throughout the day and to return if I had any more dizziness, headaches, or nausea. (I'd had those symptoms the night before but didn't think anything about them at the time.)

My numbers stayed high most of the day and I remained mostly in Stage 2, but none of my readings were as sky high as they had been at the clinic.

This morning I am still in Stage 2. I am hoping Dr. Kengeri will let me do a little more today, but we will see after that blood work is done.

I'm also hoping to do a second blog entry, one that is a little more cheerful and horsey! In case I don't, I'm going to end this one with a happy photo and a reminder to myself.

Cowpoke Lukie has been making fresh-squeezed lemonade. With mint. (It is delicious!)

Along with Cowpoke Ian and Pony Pal Mila, he has set up a stand in their yard and been making some money.

What a timely reminder this morning to turn my own lemons into lemonade!

Stay 'tooned!

Thank you for posting a picture of that blood pressure chart! I needed that! Even though I, too, take blood pressure medicine--my blood pressure fluctuates all over the place sometimes!(I feel "weird" from time to time but haven't had dizzy spells!) You're right about this being scary stuff!!
Ooooooo--lemonade!! I love lemonade! (Altho I usually drink the pre-mix kind--Country Time is the best!!) Ouch!! When did inflation hit the lemonade stand?? $1.00?? Yikes!! Lemonade used to sell for 10-25 cents!!(Yep!! I know! haha! I'm aging myself!)
Good luck with your stand Cowboy Lukie & Ian and Pony Pal Mila!
