Indiana, a Hotbed of Showing: Dark Horse Model Swap & Show

2022 was the inaugural year for the Dark Horse Model Swap & Show. Held by Christine Jefferson at the end of October in Rensselaer, Indiana, it filled up fast and was a big success.

I think the ribbons are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen.

Granted, orange is my favorite color, but still these go beyond that - aren't they striking?

This year's show and swap meet are being held October 28 at the Jasper County Fairgrounds in Rensselaer again. A different show hall on the grounds is being used that has more open space.

Not only was 2022 the first year of Dark Horse, it was also the very first live show that Christine had ever put on.

She did an excellent job.

Equine veterinarian Dr. Larry Leininger was one of the judges.

Things to know if you are interested in going to the 2023 show:

- set up is allowed Friday evening.

- Rensselaer is on Central time. (Almost all of Indiana is on Eastern time except a small pocket as you get closer to Chicago.)

- The show and swap meet run concurrently. You can sell from your show table or you can pay for a swap table.

- Divisions are OF Plastics, OF Plastics Collectibility, Rare OF Plastics, Artist Resin, Artist Resin Workmanship, OF China/Porcelain, CM Glazed China, and CMG Workmanship.

- In OF Plastic, some classes are split between Breyer and Stone (OF QH, Appaloosas, Arabians, foals, etc.) while most of the others are combined. 

- NAN approval is pending.
