Today's prompt? "Yippee ki-yay! Show us your, um, mares and foals..."
I have many mare and foal pairs, but within those, I also have three Christmas mare and foal pairs, so using them was the logical choice.
In the mid 2010 decade, Breyer did a brief series of holiday mares and foals with blankets using vintage mold mare and foal pairs. Vintage molds with blankets? A double win for my collection!

2015's offering was on two molds that are not quite as popular with collectors:
Eve and Claus on the Thoroughbred Mare and Suckling Foal. Their coloring is beautiful. (Photo by Breyer.)
Sadly, Breyer ended the sets in 2016 with Crystal and Crispin.
The Grazing Mare and Foal has a lot of fans in the hobby (myself included) but despite that, this was the last of the Holiday Mare and Foal series.
There are newer mare and foal pairs that have been introduced since 2016, and I would love to see Breyer revive this series and use some of those molds. I know I'd sure buy them!

This prompted me to check my blankets. Sure enough, I am still missing Crispin's (?), the foal's, blue blanket. Certainly I join you in wishing Breyer would carry some more of these!
